Matt is going to the Sufjan Stevens concert in Indianapolis on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006. The doors open at 7:30 for this show, and the venue is veritably miniscule. 111 people small. It’s at the Murat Egyptian Room, whose reputation is for very intimate shows. And where am I during this? Most likely sitting in my apartment, wishing I was at a Sufjan Stevens concert.
And the worst part? I bought the tickets for matt. Yeah, that’s right, ebayed them, straight up cash.
But perhaps there is hope for me yet, I may just have an impulse to buy a plane ticket for that weekend just to see Sufjan Stevens in concert. 300 dollars… is it worth it? Yeah, it’s worth it, but the issue is more am I stupid enough to take action on it? Oh lordy… I want to see Sufjan in concert… Well, if I get the PhD program and the TA position, then I’ll more likely go.
What would have solved all this mess is if he came to Denver to do a show. I guess we’re just too far out of the way. Just like by Over the Rhine, we are shunned.
